Under 9s

Welcome to the Under 9’s section Cambridge Rugby Club, this is Mini rugby with an introduction of full contact where tackling, rucking and mauling are taught. The U9s play in both friendlies and festival competitions, around the region, with the intention of encouraging boys & girls, from all backgrounds, to enjoy an active outdoor sport with the emphasis being on safety, fun, sportsmanship and the development of skills. Training is at the Club every Sunday 09:30am to 11:00am throughout the season when there are no matches.

The U9 game is played with nine players, three of whom are forwards, a scrum half and 5 backs. At this level we also introduce them to scrummaging and line outs although both are non-competitive(un contested).
