Despite having a half time lead of 19 - 13, Cambridge lost their opening match of the season to Sedgley Park, by 39 points to 24. Gareth McComb (Sponsored by Cumberlows) scored the opening try against Sedgley Park which almost a deja vu as he scored the last try of the last match of last season against todays visitors. However, it was not to be and the Manchester side ran out comfortable winners, having scored 26 points in the second half to the reply of just the single try by Cambridge. Scorers for the home side where Gareth McComb (2 tries), James Crozier (on his debut at full back) and skipper Darren Fox. Tom Wheatcroft converted two of the tries. |
